“We all have an ugly book at home. Because ugly books tell us who we are.” This is the premise of Auroro Borealo’s new show: a live performance where these ugly books become cult classics. And if you bring an ugly book from home, you’ll get a gift… Auroro Borealo, performer, singer-songwriter, DJ, popularizer, podcaster, record producer, tired, hypochondriac, and poor.

Alongside his music, he has been conducting a personal exploration of the “differently beautiful” for years. In 2018, he founded the Instagram page Libri Brutti (now with over 90,000 followers), which has also become a successful podcast and a newly published book. Since 2006, he has run orrorea33giri.com, a historical archive of the most incredible gems of Italian discography.

He has released six albums, including the world’s first record designed specifically for TikTok (EH, 2022), founded the Talento label for off-the-radar artists, and uploaded viral videos to YouTube such as “Literal Videos” and “10 Minutes of Breaded Slices.” On TikTok and Instagram, he posts cult columns like “ugly books” and “the worst Italian album covers.” In 2025, he brought “Auroro – The Musical” to the stage, a musical with a cast of 40 people.
