International House Museum Days
Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19
To mark the International House Museum Days dedicated to houses of memory and famous figures, Giovanni Pascoli’s birthplace will be open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (admission: 3 euros).
The event is organized by the National Association of Houses of Memory, which brings together 120 Italian house museums, with the support and collaboration of the ICOM DEMHIST (International Committee for Historic House Museums) and ICLCM (International Committee for Literary and Composers’ Museums) committees, ICOM Italy, and the European Network of House Museums of Famous Figures.
For the occasion, two guided tours are scheduled:
Sunday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. | Tour of the Casa Pascoli Museum
A journey through the rooms of the house museum to rediscover the poet’s loved ones and relive the places dear to his heart. Emotional memories that leave their mark in archival documents and poetry, and resurface through family objects and mementos. The tour traces the bonds experienced, hoped for, and promised by the young Pascoli!
Sunday, April 19, 4:00 p.m. | Themed tour of Casa Pascoli led by Director Rosita Boschetti
Discover the secrets hidden within the walls of the poet’s birthplace on an exclusive tour led by director Rosita Boschetti, author of the book "Omicidio Pascoli. Il complotto” (Mimesis, 2014). A fascinating journey that will take you to the heart of one of the darkest and most mysterious events of the 19th century: the murder of Ruggero Pascoli, which took place on August 10, 1867. A crime that devastated an entire family and forever changed the young poet’s destiny. An intense experience blending history and memory, offering an up-close look at one of the most poignant chapters in our literature.
Guided tours cost 5 euros per person and last one hour.
